Sept. 25, 2013 (update)

Thank you to all of those who contributed to my Eagle Project, I received much more clothes than I was expecting.  Now I am on to part two of my project.  There will be three separate opportunities for scouts to earn community service hours, the first being this Thursday, September 26th, from 4-6 after school at my house.  I am looking for 3-4 scouts to come and help sort all the clothes.  Even if you only have an hour, it would be very helpful.

The next date is Tuesday, October 1st.  I need four scouts to come to the Rochester International Academy with me where we will be sorting all the clothes and reorganizing their three storage closets. We will pick you up from school at the end of the day and take you home when we are finished.  We should be back in Pittsford by 5:30 or 6.

The final date is Friday October 11th.  Pittsford schools have off on that day however the Rochester International Academy still has school.  I need three scouts that day to go to the school with us, where we will do an activity in the classrooms with the teachers and students.  Transportation will be provided.

You will earn community service hours for each day you volunteer.  Please contact me by email or by phone if you are able to help out.

Attached is the flyer for my Eagle Project.  For my project, I am collecting clothes for the students of The Rochester International Academy.  This is a school for refugees who have recently moved to America from another country without many material goods such as clothes.  The school is for grades K-12, so I am collecting all sizes, but most of the kids are rather small so there is a greater need for smaller sizes.  I will be collecting clothes at each meeting from this Monday to the twenty-third of September, however you can drop off clothes anytime at the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford where we have our meetings, St. John of Rochester Church in Fairport, or at my house.

For the second part of my project, I will be taking a group of scouts to The Rochester International Academy for an activity with the students, for an opportunity to earn community service hours. More information on this will follow.

Thank you and please spread the word, the more clothes the better!
